Address Nation's Oldest and Largest Gathering of Conservatives
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) -- a project of the American Conservative Union Foundation, in association with Young America's Foundation and Human Events -- announced that it expects a record number of attendees at the 2010 event. This year's conference will be held for the first time at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington D.C.
"One of the many challenges of hosting CPAC is determining how to accommodate the continually growing number of activists, students, and policymakers who attend our event," said CPAC Chairman David A. Keene. "From year to year we have learned to expect a certain amount of growth as more people become more involved in the democratic process.
"According to our pre-registration data, we expect a 20 percent increase in attendance from last year, and that's worth noting, because it significantly exceeds our normal growth" added Keene. "It's a clear reflection of Americans growing dissatisfaction with the current administration's policies, and we intend to allow those voices that feel that they have been left out of the process an opportunity to make their voices heard," said Keene.
CPAC begins on Thursday, February 18, 2010, with Florida's Marco Rubio, and includes many other rising political stars and policymakers.
